KENZO’s Carol Lim & Humberto Leon Team Up with H&M

by Kristen Heinzinger

By now, it goes without saying that the hype surrounding an H&M designer collab yields Black Friday-esque chaos (as evidenced by the streetside lines and the occasional riot), and KENZO’s forthcoming collection for the retailer will undoubtedly uphold tradition. Carol Lim and Humberto Leon will design womenswear, menswear, and accessories, which will be available at 250-plus H&Ms around the world beginning November 3 (and likely lasting through November 3). KENZO got cutesy earlier this year with a partnership with Disney for The Jungle Book remake, and the collection for H&M will possess a similar joie de vivres and youthful vibe (check out the video below). After all, in its announcement today H&M called KENZO “the vibrant and playful Parisian house that captures the energy of global culture to create its unique, youthful spirit.”

Lim and Leon took the creative reins at the house in 2011, while simultaneously designing Opening Ceremony. Since then, they’ve infused KENZO’s collections with their signature bold colors and prints, and spearheaded creative shows, collaborations, and campaigns (winning The Daily’s Fashion Advertising Campaign of the Year in 2014). “With this collaboration with H&M we want to think big, push the boundaries and bring the new energy of KENZO to everyone around the world,” said Lim and Leon in a release. We can get behind that!
