Jessica Chastain Shares Her Relationship Tips

By  |  0 Comments

In Hollywood, we’re used to seeing complex relationships: unexpected couples dating, plenty of cheating, and multiple divorces as a result, naturally. But the story of  the upcoming film The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, is not that cut and dry; it’s so complex that it takes more than one way to tell it. Prada and The Cinema Society hosted a screening The Weinstein Company’s latest offering, comprised of two separate upcoming films from the his/her perspective (literally) titled “Him” and “Her”. The flick brought out stars Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Nina Arianda, and Jess Weixler.

“When we finally got to that first day of shooting, I just remember this spectacular feeling of relaxation that I finally got to shoot and make this movie,” director Ned Benson said before the screening. “To look at the call sheet and see who I was working with…it was amazing.” We asked Chastain, who we spotted earlier in the day in Michael Kors’ front row, for the best love advice she’s received. “There are a couple things,” she explains. “I don’t think it’s important to be right all of the time—I actually think it’s great to let the other person be right. Also, it’s not important to have the last word all of the time. These are things I had difficulty with when I was in my twenties. I always thought I was right, and I always wanted the last word. And now, I’m like ‘Honey, you can have the last word.’ I don’t want to stress about it. I find that I’m a lot happier not fighting for that.”

After previewing the film at Landmark Sunshine Cinema, attendees gathered at Indochine post-screening. The shindig attracted Bryan Greenberg, Zoe Kazan, Saffron Burrows, Nicole Miller, Mamie Gummer, Orange Is The New Black’s Alysia Reiner, Ebon Moss, Nick Rhodes, and the one and only Harvey Weinstein to sip on custom “Him” and “Her” drinks, and indulged in Indochine’s French-Vietnamese cuisine via charming apps. We grabbed Arianda for a moment to see how fashion week was treating her. “It’s so chaotic,” she said. “I was just downtown and it was insane, I haven’t seen a show this season, but I still felt the chaos.” We hear ya.
