Jennifer Connelly And Paul Bettany Honored At 20th Annual ArtWalk

Last night, Dolce & Gabbana and Vogue paired up to sponsor the 20th Annual ArtWalk for The Coalition for The Homeless. As expected, the fashion powerhouses drew quite the crowd. Paul Bettany and wife Jennifer Connelly were both on hand to be honored and promote their upcoming documentary. “I think I would have been best to attempt this sober,” Bettany said before taking the stage alongside his wife. “We agreed I would do most of the speaking, so it’s less ’50s than it looks. Jennifer can actually speak for herself…if I let her,” he quipped.

The remainder of the evening was left in the hands of Sotheby’s Aileen Agopian, who took on auctioneer duties for the evening. “You’re used to seeing Coco doing a jig up here,” she said referring to Coco Rocha‘s Irish stepdance performance at ArtWalk 2011, “but I’m Armenian so I can’t do that!” Instead, Agopian’s strong suit is selling. Funds were raised for the organization thanks in no small part to a set of Cindy Sherman portraits, which sold for nearly double the expected value, and Louise Bourgeois, which sold for triple.

Other art fans in the house included Chuck Close (whose self-portrait sold in the auction) Hilary Rhoda, Waris Ahluwalia, Fabiola BeracasaNatalie Joos, and artist Todd DiCurcio with his wife Megan DiCurcio
