J.Mendel Spring 2015

by Alexandra Ilyashov

Texture, angles, and color played the leading roles in Gilles Mendel’s Spring collection. A collab with artist Enoc Perez meant Mendel’s luxe looks had textures that mirrored the artist’s paintings. Lime greens angled against metallic silver;  B&W abounded. An energetic green, black and cool grey in the asymmetrical poplin dress and strapless cotton and leather-patched lime dress with patchwork aplenty. Blues, reds, and pinks also made cameos in the collection. The baby blue and rouge one-shoulder organza gown will make for an excellent tapis rouge look. Of course, there were brightly colored fur jackets and capes sprinkled through the collection. J. Mendel is, after all, renowned for their fur and no matter the season, their clients will be donning those lush pelts all year round.
