Isabel and Ruben Toledo To Design A Lane Bryant Capsule Collection

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) In a bold move for a generally press-shy design duo, Isabel and Ruben Toledo have announced plans to roll out a collaboration with plus-size retailer Lane Bryant. This partnership is a first for both parties, and they’re treading lightly. A T shirt and tote bag will be the first portion of the collab to hit retail racks around the holiday season, followed by a wider collection of ready-to-wear pieces, accented with outerwear and accessories. Also included in the pairing up? A spring fashion show to present the collab to the public, somewhat of a surprise move for the Toledos.

The most recent runway show showcasing Isabel’s designs was in 2007, during the single year that she worked under the Anne Klein label. Under her eponymous line, Toledo ceased production of biannual showings in 1998. The art-centric couple dished to WWD about looking forward to the collaboration. “We wish to introduce our vision of color, design, look and style and, with the vast manufacturing capabilities at their disposal, we know whatever we design will be made well and fit and feel marvelous.” Expect to see this collection in 500 of Lane Bryant’s 850 retail locations, in addition to being featured on their e-commerce site.
