Introducing The 2014 Victors Of The Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Grant

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) You can find a bottle of vino at any given fashion week soirée, but Ecco Domani’s NYFW presence is a bit more charitable than most. The label’s annual Fashion Foundation grant promotes young designers with promising talent, providing them with a financial boost during fashion week. Those taking home the big bucks this year? Timo Weiland and Alan Eckstein (along with fellow designer Donna Kang), Lindsay Degen of Degen, and Jordana Warmflash of Novis.

The winning trio will be granted $25,000 apiece to spend on their Fall 2014 fashion week show or presentation. In addition, a chic wine accessory must be created by each designer. The final stipulation of the winning deal? A few bottles of Ecco Domani must be present during each designer’s NYFW event. Apropos for a post-show toast, non? On January 22nd Timo Weiland, Novis and Degen will be fêted at a wine-infused party, with Joseph Altuzarra, a previous Ecco Domani recipient, to present a speech.

The fund, which has been around for 13 years, has prowess in selecting many big-name winners, including the likes of Prabal Gurung, Derek Lam, Alexander Wang, Zac Posen, Rodarte, and Proenza Schouler. Since the inception of the Fashion Foundation, the label has donated $1.8 million towards cultivating up-and-comers in the fashion arena. We’ll pop a cork for that…
