by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) H&M is anticipating a busy day on Thursday! The Swedish retailer is debuting their Isabel Marant collaboration on Thursday, in addition to introducing their new Times Square location with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Both are expected to debut with grand fanfare.

Marant’s collection, slated to be one of H&M’s biggest collabs of the year, was first celebrated on October 24th with a blowout bash in Paris. The street party themed event featured a nightclub, a brasserie, bars, street vendors, and a shoppable pop-up shop. In an interview with H&M, the designer revealed her intentions to design for a broad scope of clients. “For the first time, I’m also designing for my male friends, who have always begged me to do menswear,” explained the designer, who’s built her brand around feminine pieces. On November 14th, the collection will hit the racks in 250 stores around the world. Building up to the launch, editors will be hitting up a VIP shopping event tonight, affording a closer look at the designs (and the chance to a take home some of the new threads as well).

Also on November 14th, the retail giant will unveil their latest New York store, located at 4 Times Square, nestled below the Condé Nast building. At precisely 12:01 a.m., Lady Gaga will don a pair of scissors to complete the ribbon cutting ceremony, which includes lighting up the large H&M logo on top of the building as well. The singer will also greet fans, in anticipation of her album Art Pop, which will be sold in 175 H&M stores across the globe. The 42,000 square foot retail location is also tech friendly; customers will be able to make purchases in the dressing-room space and will be given a chance to take a spin on a digital runway. According to WWD, the store also boasts over 7,000 square feet of LED screens, a “glitter wall” made of mirror-polished stainless steel, and charging stations equipped with iPads. On opening day, the shop will be open for 24 hours, and will hold giveaways and offers every hour on the hour.
