(NEW YORK) The team over at InStyle has been busy all summer prepping for their hefty September issue, but all that work has paid off with the announcement of nine promotions on the staff. The creation of co-executive editors has meant promotions for two senior editors. Moving up the ladder? Amy Synnott, who’s been with the publication for 13 years and has simultaneously worked as the beauty director and the editor of special interest publications InStyle Hair and InStyle Makeover. Erik Jackson has been promoted from features editor, to share executive editor duties with Synnott. Kahlana Barfield, previously senior beauty market editor, and Anegelique Serrano, who first joined InStyle as senior features editor, will share the title of beauty director. Other changes to the masthead in the beauty department include Sheryl George’s appointment to associate beauty editor, from her assistant beauty editor role.
A number of promotions have also been made in the home pages. Anne Kim has moved up from editorial assistant to assistant editor, and Kate Donovan has been named market editor from her position as an associate market editor. In the features department, Christina Shanahan made the switch from assistant editor to associate editor. Finally, former acting editor of InStyle.com, Angela Matusik, has been promoted to executive editor of digital, where she will oversee all content on the site, social media content and all digital developments.
