Hamptons Shop Talk: Eres

by Dena Silver
Eres

While the initial draw of the Hamptons might be picturesque beaches and pristine summer homes, the East End has undoubtedly become a go-to shopping destination. With world-class boutiques situated next to mom-and-pop retailers, you could easily spend an entire weekend perusing Main Street in East Hampton or Jobs Lane in Southampton and beyond. So The Daily Summer went to town chatting with the chicest boutiques’ gatekeepers, aka the sales girls and boys, to see what’s happening on the shopping front. Can you blame us for snagging a few summer must-haves in the process? This week, we popped by Eres, located at 55 Main Street in East Hampton.  Among plenty of swimsuits and a gorgeous shot of Lindsey Wixson, we found Jocelyn Daly, store manager, who gave us the dish.

What’s your favorite part about working at Eres?
The collection, the great quality, the colors, and the beautiful lingerie with lace work and soft silk details. The swimwear has wonderful shape in the one pieces, as well as two pieces.

What do customers often come in seeking?
Most customers are looking for swimsuits, but a lot of times they also end up getting lingerie, too. They don’t realize that we have lingerie here.

Do you have a favorite Eres girl from over the years?
Bérénice Marlohe, who was a James Bond woman and was featured in a Karl Lagerfeld campaign as well. There used to be a really pretty photo of her in the store!

What’s your own personal style like off duty?
I like sundresses and wearing something flowy. It’s such an easy look in the summer. You just throw on a pair of shoes and you’re ready to go.

Dish on your top Hamptons haunts, please!
I’m always at The Palm! I also like Blue Parrot and Lieb Cellar in East Hampton, which has a nice little happy hour where you can do tastings. And then there’s the Wolffer Vineyard. Who doesn’t like Wolffer?

Where do you go for a midday snack?
Scoop DuJour has this amazing chocolate peanut butter frozen yogurt!
