Haider Ackermann Spring 2015

by Dena Silver

Haider Ackermann took the first signs of spring and translated them into his latest lineup. Muted and earthy tones were used, ranging from snow white to soft lilac along with the occasional peek of moss green. If the soft restraint of color wasn’t enough to illustrate Ackermann’s springy sentiment, the textures and subtly sexy undertones surely did the trick. Ruffles cropped up in both matte and shiny silks. A diaphanous earthy green jacket, unzipped with ruffles protruding from the base, created a flowery effect, sans a fussy floral print. Even a pearly-hued vest was made extraordinary with a hem that offered the impression of multi-layered ribbon. A flushed satin pantsuit was given added oomph from a deep rose blouse that bloomed from under a tailored blazer. After all, Spring is the time for blossoming, right?
