Garrett Neff On His New Men’s Swim Line
Mod Garret Neff gave us the scoop on his foray into design with his new men’s swimwear line, KATAMA, at our bash for The Daily Summer last night…
How’s your summer going?
It’s been great! I’ve been in New York a whole lot working on a men’s swimwear line. It’s my first turn as a designer. Once you get the momentum going, you learn a few things and you build on top of that. I knew the lingo and the creative process a little bit from being in the industry. But learning where to get all of the raw materials and who to go to in New York in the Fashion District took a little while. Now that everything is moving along, it’s not so bad!
What’s your pool routine?
I do dabble in some swimming. I was on a swim team in New York as a kid. They had a great program in Tribeca, where I lived, so I spent a lot of time doing that. I’d swim probably a little over a mile, do 10 laps on the kick board, free-style, and do a bunch of strokes to work the whole body.
Want to show us right now?
I can’t! I don’t have my trunks on. If I did, obviously I would!
