FIT's Future Of Fashion Show Taps Alexa Chung To Host

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Stylish M.C. alert: Next month, FIT’s annual Future of Fashion show will be hosted by Alexa Chung. The event, which will take place on FIT’s Chelsea campus, is sponsored by Calvin Klein. Recently, Chung spoke at the second annual Vogue Festival in London; she is also a contributing editor at British Vogue. This month, Chung graces the cover of Italian Glamour. Later this year, her own clothing line is expected to roll out. “The fashion industry can be a rude awakening for new designers, and FIT offers these students an amazing opportunity to get a glimpse of what they can expect in the ‘real world’,” Chung told WWD. The show will be streamed live on FIT’s website. Last year’s show drew the likes of Lisa Perry, Dennis Basso, and Rag & Bone’s David Neville to fill its front row. This year’s FIT seniors’ designs will be judged by a klatch of critics: Sportswear will be judged by Rebecca Minkoff, Brandon Sun, Daniel Vosovic, and Lela Rose’s head of design, Felicia Zivkovic, while Lisa di Napoli will sift through the Children’s Wear, Matthew Mirano will weigh in on Special Occasion, Knitwear will be judged by Reiko Waisglass and Kate Williams, and Jennifer Zuccarini of Fleur de Mal will judge Intimate Apparel.
