by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) Ferruccio Ferragamo and Franca Sozzani hosted a big bash in Milan last night at the Accademia di Brera in celebration of Salvatore Ferragamo’s original atelier, the Palazzo Feroni. Ferragamo unveiled 50 historical and iconic shoes from the brand’s archives, which were curated by Sozzani. Artisans sat at shoemakers’ work tables using tools, lasts, and original materials used by Mr. Ferragamo himself to recreate the iconic footwear. Also on display was the Museo Salvatore Ferragamo’s feature film “White Shoe”, which played on a big screen throughout the night. The event was held in support of Sozzani and Ferragamo’s united efforts to aid the Academia Belle Arti and Vogue’s dedication the “The Italian Fashion Schools”.

So who showed up? Everyone, darlings! EIC’s like Linda Wells of Allure and Cindy Weber Cleary of InStyle, style stars like Leandra Medine, Leigh Lezark, and Miroslava Duma, Italian fashion besties Giovanna Battaglia and Anna Dello Russo, editors like Kate Lanphear, Sam Broekema, and Rickie de Sole Webster, and A-listers like Hilary Swank showed up to support the cause and the brand. Dello Russo and Lezark both carried their Fiamma bags, which is Ferragamo’s latest accessory that’s meant to be an ode to the brand’s DNA and Mr. Ferragamo’s late daughter Fiamma Ferragamo, who was the leather accessories and shoe designer for her family’s brand for 40 years. The new bag will come in calfskin, python, pony hair, and crocodile. But you’ll have to wait to get your hands on one when the new bag launches in New York this May!
