The Daily can exclusively report that Style.com’s EIC, Dirk Standenis moving over to another Condé Nast title for his next gig as digital creative director at W. After nearly a decade helming Style.com, Standen’s job, which is a brand new title at the mag, will involve working closely with W‘s editor-in-chief, Stefano Tonchi on all digital strategy for the brand. Standen began his new role today.

“I’m looking forward to collaborating with some of the best talent in the industry to expand W‘s digital mission,” Standen said in a statement. “If you look at what W does so well in print—discovering what’s next, putting society under a spotlight, producing bold, provocative images, and exploring the connection between fashion, film, and art—you see that it’s uniquely positioned to thrive in every corner of the online space.”

Standen has been with Condé Nast since 2003; he joined the company as deputy editor of the digital division, and launched Men.Style.com a few months before Style.com’s inception. Standen’s move comes a few weeks after Style.com announced it was transitioning into an e-comm destination by the fall.

“I’ve always admired Dirk’s work in both the digital space and in print—he is a true trailblazer who brings tremendous experience, an inventive approach and a pioneering vision…I’m thrilled to be working with him,” Tonchi said in a statement.
