Following the sudden departures of Teen Vogue‘s senior fashion market editor Mary Kate Steinmiller and accessories director Sheena Smith last month, there’s a new hire who will handle some market and accessories duties: Marie Claire‘s Jessica Minkoff. Her new title at the teen glossy is senior market and accessories editor, The Daily can exclusively report. When Steinmiller and Smith’s departures were reported in late October, Fashionista cited budget cuts as the reason for their layoffs. Could this be why Minkoff’s role encompasses both the ready-to-wear and accessories markets?

Minkoff is arriving at the Condé Nast title from Marie Claire, where she’s been on staff since January 2013; she has held three different positions during that time. She started as associate market editor and was named fashion features editor in April 2013, followed by her most recent promotion to senior market editor five months ago. Prior to that, Minkoff was a staff writer at Style.com. A Teen Vogue rep confirmed the hire to The Daily; Minkoff will start her new role on November 24th. She will report to Marina Larroudé, the glossy’s fashion director.
