As if you needed one more excuse to count down the days until warm weather officially arrives, your
Daily had a little chat with Dolce&Gabbana’s national makeup artist, Christian McCulloch, about the brand’s haute upcoming products. This celeb-preferred artist spills the dirt on the #dgcolourspring Collection, replete with (you guessed it) bright hues and warm tones. So, what beauty tips and tricks should we pick up? McCulloch explained it all to us, but if you want to hear in person, he’ll be at Saks Fifth Avenue’s Fifth Ave. location today, taking part in the store’s Beauty Week and chatting about this season’s must-haves.

We’re so ready to embrace Spring beauty! What are some key beauty looks that will be a hit this season?
Aren’t we all! My go-to beauty look for Spring is dewy skin with a clean, iridescent eyelid. Then, shape the face with structured brows, and finally, deliver a pop of color with a bold lip.

What new products are you most excited about in #dgcolourspring?
I immediately gravitated towards the Dolce&Gabbana Smooth Eye Color Quad in Tender; it’s so perfectly dusty. This palette is the perfect neutral with soft, pale colors that combine together beautifully. You can use these neutral shades to layer, shadow and structure the eyelids so your eyes brighten and pop. The new raspberry lip shade in the #dgcolourspring collection was also an immediate favorite, especially the Classic Cream Lipstick in Bouganville. There is a gloss in the shade as well, to complement the dewy lip look! This raspberry creamy lipstick is the perfect sophisticated take on a bright lip shade.

How can we emulate a weekend in the sun if we don’t have time for a quick trip?
If you want to look as if you just walked off a beach in Miami, go up one (only one) shade in foundation. Dolce&Gabbana Perfect Luminous Liquid Foundation is great because it delivers a sheer, bright complexion. Then, layer the Dolce&Gabbana Bronzer Glow Bronzing Powder in Desert with the Luminous Cheek Color in Peach for a sun-kissed effect.

We’ve been hearing about the Dolce&Gabbana Milan Bold Lip. What exactly is that?
The Dolce&Gabbana Milan Bold Lip is about bringing attention to the lips with very minimal eye shadow or none at all. Create a clear template, frame the face with structured brows, add a dash of liner and mascara, then finally deliver a strong pop of color with bold lips. It’s a young, fresh look.

When it comes to lipsticks, which colors are going to be hot for spring?
After this brutal a winter, we’ll all want to embrace color for Spring. I personally love bright lip shades in oranges, pinks, and subtle variations of red.

Tell us more about the reds!
Let’s ditch the bold red–red this spring and embrace a more playful, less serious take on the red lip. I’m loving red hues in cherry and raspberry. These shades have a softer take and are perfect for day time.

What are your thoughts on coordinating lips and eyes? Or lips and nails?
I love a color story! If you’re going to coordinate your lips to your eyes, don’t use the same exact shade, but use shades that compliment one another. This creates a surprising, sophisticated, and fun look. It’s all about being playful.

Got any beauty tips that Americans can borrow from the Italians?
Italian women own that sexy, smoldering bombshell look; they can be a little more adventurous when it comes to makeup than American women. I say give it a try! Go for a little more va-va-voom and a little less girl-next-door.
