Dolce & Gabbana's Big Fifth Avenue Boutique Bash

by The Daily Front Row

(NEW YORK) On Saturday Dolce & Gabbana went lavishly all-out for the opening of their Fifth Avenue flagship. Guests celebrated (some by shopping) as champagne and wine flowed. on hand to toast the store opening were fashion’s finest like Gisele Bundchen, Stephanie Seymour along with sons Harry and Peter BrantChloë Sevigny, Kate Young, Lisa Marie Fernandez, the Roitfeld clan (Carine, Julia, and Vladimir all came out for the bash!) and the evening’s host, Giovanna Battaglia. Music folks like the diminutive Kylie Minogue and DJ Mia Moretti arrived to congratulate the designers. Surprise guest? Jesse Tyler Ferguson from Modern Family was the evening’s fun find.

In true Italian fashion, guests were treated to a performance from Metropolitan Opera tenor, Matthew Polenzani, and soprano Ellie Dehn. The performers were accompanied by a cellist, a pianist, a violist and two violinists as they sung Italian arias like “Una furtiva lagrima (L’Elisir d’amore),” “Brindisi (La Traviata)” and the classic “‘O Sole Mio.” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are big supporters of the Metropolitan Opera, but surprisingly it will be the designers first time in five years attending the other Met. As the designers put it while describing how they enjoyed the evening, “Everyone was so nice with us and tomorrow night there’s the Met [Costume Gala]! We are back after five years and we are very excited about it!” We can’t wait to see the duo all dressed up in punk as they make a long-awaited return to fashion’s biggest tapis rouge affair.
