Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2015

by Paige Reddinger

“Je t’aime maman!” Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana debuted a tribute to mothers on their fall runway. Dresses were adorned with love notes to mothers everywhere with “I love you mother” written in cursive in English, French, and Italian. Red roses, the international flower of love, came either in prints or as embellishments on classic Dolce & Gabbana silhouettes. Mother-daughter duos walked the runway, some models carried babies, and a pregnant model model took on the catwalk in a chic nude pencil dress. Skirts and dresses also featured appliques of children’s drawings. Perhaps Angelina Jolie‘s wedding dress served as inspiration?

It had all of the intricate lace, florals, furs, and Sicilian undertones that are standard on Dolce & Gabbana’s runway. As for the accessories? Ornate headphones encrusted with pearls and gems, some of which were covered with furry ear muffs. Mothers, now more than ever, are busy multi-taskers. Sometimes they may need to just tune out the noise.
