DKNY & W Magazine Celebrate New Women’s Artist Project

by Sydney Sadick

This week, DKNY’s newly-appointed creative directors Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell OsborneW Magazine editor-in-chief Stefano Tonchi, and New Museum director Lisa Phillips hosted a dinner and after party to kick off the New Women’s Project. The celebration is part of DKNY’s partnership with the museum to amplify the institution’s long-standing advocacy for women artists as a hallmark of its mission over the past 38 years. The spring ’16 exhibitions feature the first New York museum solo shows by five women artists: Nicole Eisenman, Goshka Macuga, Cally Spooner, Andra Ursuta, and Beatriz Santiago Munoz, overseen by Massimiliano Gioni, the museum’s artistic director.

Attendees of the dinner and after party were among the first to experience Spring Place, a.k.a. the new private members’ club and workspace set to open in Tribeca next month. The guest list included the adorbs Jaden Smith, as well as Romee Strijd, Waris Ahluwalia, Cipriana & TK Quann, Alexandra Richards, Mia Moretti, May Kwok, Margot, Johnny Wujek, and Shaun Ross.
