Delpozo Spring 2015

by Daniel Chivu

Delpozo creative director Josep Font turned out a fairytale-esque collection, his fifth for the maison, brimming with elegant, innovative lines, a creative mingling of bright neon and soft pastel hues, and swoon-worthy, incredibly intricate embellishments.  Inspired by the art of Nils-Udo and marine life as captured in Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka’s 19th Century glass creations, Font honed into his couture days. The results were fresh and kept the crowd eagerly awaiting each subsequent look. The standout? The green tulle shirtdress embellished with seashells, one of the final looks that came down the runway.  Also worth nothing: those quirky chunky flower-embellished oxford shoes. Whimsy-filled, just like the beautifully wrought pieces comprising the collection.
