Delpozo’s Josep Font looked to a duo of artistic talents inform his creative, colorful, and sophisticated Fall showing. “This collection is about two contemporary painters—one is Rhys Lee from Australia, he’s really sinister but colorful. There’s a lot of contrast,” Font explained to us backstage. “The other painter is Andrew Remnev from Russia; he’s very romantic. The combination seems strange at first, but it feels like a new, fresh sensation.” The result? Font’s striking, sculptural shifts in intriguing colorblocked combinations, sporting oversize floral beading, like a maroon and pale blue number and a cobalt-bodiced look affixed with neon pink flora. These frocks mingled with diaphanous, sweeping Grecian gowns in merlot and navy, and a series of pretty looks in a berry-hued floral trimmed in black, with tasteful sheer paneling. The outerwear gave plenty to lust after: polished, classic, yet distinctive coats and capes in Font’s array of stunning hue choices. A swingy cornflower blue calf-grazer with wide flared sleeves and vibrant, bird-like appliques was a standout. Font is certainly one to watch…
