The Daily Davis: Cointreau’s Stylish San Fran Pop Up

Amongst the chicoisie, ’tis the season of Cointreau. The tasty 80-proof orange spirit (born 160 years ago in Angers, France) has a stable of style stars that they have cohosted parties with like interior guru Athena Calderone, Grey Area’s Kyle deWoody, artist Kate Schelter and Whitney Pozgay and partner Parker Argote of WHIT. Cointreau’s latest soiree involved a herd of cute bloggers jetting to San Francisco to shop at the Syllabus pop up. Syllabus is a super-cool store in Chico, California run by cute Alicia Lund who was an Elle fashion editor and also is behind the addictive blog Cheetah is the new Black. Lund’s SF Syllabus (conveniently located across the street from yummy SF foodie staple Zuni) carried brand like Lisa Salzer‘s Lulu Frost, BONMOT (beautiful silk blouses handcrafted by designer Rebecca Rauth in San Francisco), OTTE, Rebecca Atwood, Miansai and many others. “I wanted to bring some of my absolute favorite designers, a mix of made in America and local artisans as well as designers from New York that aren’t available in northern California,” Alicia told me.

The opening was packed. Blogger girls in Instagram-glam get ups sipped Cointreau Rickeys, snapped photos, shopped and did selfies in the things they scooped up. “This is such a surreal moment,” Alicia exclaimed as she walked into the bustling store. “Seeing my inspiration come to life and meeting my Bay Area blogger readers is amazing.” Let’s swig a Cointreau Rickey to that.
