by The Daily Front Row

Cyndi Lauper at The Plaza Hotel? Yes, please. The legendary singer came out to the famed hotel this week to perform her signature song, “True Colors” for the over 400 guests at The Skin Cancer Foundation’s annual gala. The event hosted by Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child fame, not the actress!) honored Hearst Magazines for their contribution of substantial ad space to the Foundation’s anti-tanning PSA campaign, Go With Our Own Grow. The foundation also recognized Personal Care Products Council (PCPC) Sunscreen Committee, for its support of the Foundatin’s mission to reduce skin cancer incidence through public education. O‘s beauty director Valerie Monroe and PCPC’s Farrah K. Ahmed accepted these awards, respectively. The sit down dinner welcomed Pat Cleveland, Alex Lundqvist, Gretchen Mol, Anthony Edwards, Julie Macklowe, and Veronica Webb, to name a few. Guests walked away from the night with a plethora of skin products and reminder after reminder to stay faaaaaar away from tanning beds. Stay your true color.
