Bloomingdale's Chats With Rebecca Taylor, Mara Hoffman And More For The Collective

by The Daily Front Row

When 11 haute designers are in the same room, chicness ensues. Such was the case last night when Bloomingdale’s 59th Street launched The Collective to a crowd of fashion devotees. The new section features 21 fashion-forward brands handpicked by Bloomies. Against a backdrop of cocktails, pastel macarons, and racks of colorful clothes, Brooke Jaffe, the women’s RTW fashion director, interviewed the designers. In the hot seat: Amanda Uprichard, Cynthia Rowley, Twelfth Street’s Cynthia Vincent, Parker’s Derek Farrar, Mara Hoffman, Nanette Lepore, Rebecca Minkoff, Rebecca Taylor, Torn’s Ronny Kobo, Trina Turk, and Cut25’s Yigal Azrouël. The designers disclosed facts about themselves, such as their very first editorial cameos: Rowley’s was Playboy mag! The eve ended with a mini fashion show featuring a single look from each designer’s Spring collection.
