Beyoncé and CR Fashion Book Finally Merge

by Eddie Roche

CR Fashion Book has revealed their Issue 5 cover gal and Beyoncé gets treated to a little Roitfeld magic (for the first time!) in their latest issue. Pierre Debusschere shot Bey under the guest creative direction of Riccardo Tisci. In an unusual move, we hear that Mrs. Carter approached Roitfeld about working together. Inside we get a look at some original words she wrote that were remixed by Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Forrest Cander. Beyoncé writes: “You call me a singer, but I’m called to transform, to suck up the grief, anxiety, and loss of those who hear me into my song’s form. It’s my daughter, she’s my biggest muse. There’s someone we all find out soon, more important than ourselves to lose. Utopias, they don’t much interest me. I always mess things up a bit. Its chaos, in part, that helps us see.” This is a little deeper than the lyrics to “Single Ladies”. Check out the latest CR on stands September 4th to read the rest of her words, and see what happens when two queens collab. Meanwhile, in other pop and fashion news…Invites went out this week for Pharrell Williams’ fashion week ‘Ocean Night’ collection, happening September 5th at 23 Wall Street. It’s part of Williams partnership with G-Star.
