Best of Pre-Fall 2016: Rochas, Giorgio Armani, Vionnet

by Paige Reddinger

Pre-fall just keeps on giving as designers continue to roll out collections week after week ahead of the actual Fall 2016 shows. Perhaps inventing an actual Pre-fall and Resort Week could be the answer (not that we’re jaded just yet). Luckily, there is still plenty to lust after…

Label: Rochas
Inspiration: Uptown eccentricity. The Rochas woman is relaxed in forgiving silhouettes and cozy coats, but still, you won’t find this woman about town staying in.
Highlights: Outerwear in a variety of textures, floral prints, and surprisingly sexy slits.

Label: Giorgio Armani
Inspiration: “Freedom from all that is ordinary.” A rule-breaking woman who expresses her mood through her clothing. In other words, a more youthful take on Giorgio Armani’s classic designs. The message this season had a more bohemian attitude.
Highlights: Soft, tiered silk dresses contrast with edgier outwear like a PVC trench or a multicolored fur mixed in with dressy culottes and a floral A-line mini.

Label: Vionnet
Inspiration: “Geometry as romanticism.”
Highlights: Versatile pajama pants and shirts, a stunning cerulean blue plissé dress coat, Deco-inspired prints, and tulle net skirts worn over silk pants.
