Beauty Intel: GLAMSQUAD's Blowouts To Go, Decoded

by The Daily Front Row

Can’t squeeze in some mane maintenance at your usual blowout haunt? Hit up GLAMSQUAD for a pro blowout on demand, in your abode, and a menu of styles whipped up by creative director Giovanni Vaccaro, a 10-year Frederic Fekkai vet. Vaccaro recently made his move into the digital space, and in his new gig, he’s training GLAMSQUAD’s posse of stylists and keeping tabs on the Style Menu of coif options. Vaccaro filled us in on his hair-story and much more…

When did you enter the tress trade?
I grew up in the restaurant business working for my father, so the service industry was always second nature to me. Although I enjoyed restaurant work, I wanted something a bit more chic and creative. I always loved fashion and style, so cosmetology school seemed like an obvious option.

What did you crib from a decade chez Fekkai?
Through Fekkai’s diverse clientele and the mentorship program I directed, I communicated with a wide range of personalities.

What lured you over to GLAMSQUAD?
I loved the idea of bringing affordable luxury and beauty into a woman’s home at the click of a button. I believe this company will be a leader in affordable, on-demand beauty. That’s absolutely the future of the industry!

Which apps do you swear by?
My go-to apps are Open Table for food and Uber for transportation. Of course, GLAMSQUAD is the most important app on my iPhone, although I don’t personally use the services…

What does your gig consist of, exactly?
I create the looks on our inspirational menu and work with the team to build our vision. The most important part of my job is training our incredibly talented stylists, who have years of experience.

How does a stylist make the GLAMSQUAD cut?
Before graduating our program, our stylists must master each and every one of our 10 signature looks—and learn how to personalize them to a variety of hair textures and face shapes.=

Who’s the GLAMSQUAD gal?
She’s an on-the-go woman who appreciates beauty and quality, but doesn’t feel the need to pay top dollar for it. She understands that hair is the only accessory she wears everyday, so having it look good is a necessity.

Do you play favorites in the coif department?
From voluminous Victoria’s Secret hair to short, sexy hair as seen on celebs like Jennifer Lawrence and Miley Cyrus, I love it all.
