For friends and business partners Mollie Good and Stephanie Abramow, fine jewelry is a way of life. The designers of Walters Faith, which launched in 2013, have become known for their geometric, architecture-inspired jewels that are frequently rendered in rose gold and white diamonds. This month, the collection launches at London Jewelers in East Hampton.
How did you meet?
Stephanie: In 2009, Mollie and I met while working for Ivanka Trump. We both have a common love for fine jewelry and although our individual skill sets are different, we felt that what we each bring to the table would make for a great partnership.
What was the first inkling that you shared a similar design sensibility?
Mollie: I started with a mood board, collecting imagery of architecture, fashion, modern art and period jewelry. I like to draw inspiration from the past as well as current trends and blend them into wearable, collectable and timeless designs. Through the boards we found we both gravitate toward classically modern design – clean lines & geometric forms. My style is a bit more reformed and conservative while Stephanie adds a little bit of an edge.
What was the brand’s first big success?
Stephanie: We have traveled quite a bit gathering feedback, listening to customers’ requests and fine tuning our designs before officially launching. Last summer we had an intimate event in Watermill, which was our first opportunity to present our collection. We were overwhelmed by the positive response to our jewelry and we were able to work directly with the attendees to suggest pieces that would complement their individual collections and enjoy for a lifetime. It was at this moment that we knew we were creating something that women of all ages could relate to.
How many SKUs are included in your collection?
Mollie: Currently we have 100 unique styles in the collection. We are adding several new pieces for holiday and are really excited about the current sketches in the work for Spring 2017.
What are your favorite materials to work with?
Mollie: Our collection is primarily made up of 18K Rose Gold, 18K White Gold and Sterling Silver, these metals really complement every skin tone. I love non-color colors, setting champagne and colorless diamonds into the metal allow our jewelry to be very versatile.
Stephanie: And of course while Mollie prefers rose and white gold, all of our pieces are available to special order in 18K yellow gold.
You’ve recently arrived at London Jewelers. Which pieces are performing well for the brand in the Hamptons?
Mollie: Everyone loves a hoop earring and we have found that our Saxon Silver Chain Link Hoops are a great addition to any outfit. They are lightweight and a sophisticated look from day to night—you may even forget you have them on.
How do you plan to spend your summer vacation?
Stephanie: I’m looking forward to my upcoming trip to Greece in August!
Mollie: I’m traveling with my family and friends to Sea Island, Ga.
Stephanie: But there’s no better way to spend a summer weekend than time in the Hamptons. So special and unlike anywhere else!
What else does the brand have planned for fall?
Mollie: This fall, we are going to debut sapphires in our collection. This will be our entry into color. We love that it times perfectly with sapphire being the September birthstone and the rich navy blue stone pairs so well with jeans.
