A slinky, sexy showing from Couture’s latest addition: Alexandre Vauthier joined the club last month, thanks to an official haute couture appellation from Chambre Syndicale, and he turned out a richly textured collection grounded in hunter green, lots of black, a couple sparky numbers (including some bejeweled knickers!), and a palette cleanser of three all-white looks. Working with extra luxe materials like croc and eel skin, Vauthier vamped it up with sultry silhouettes including an ankle-grazing cape, partially unbuttoned shirtdresses, clingy minis, and sheer paneled gowns, the latter of which were street-apropos versions of boudoir classics. No wonder the likes of Beyoncé and Rihanna adore Vauthier’s aesthetic, and it seems like they’ll have plenty sift through from his Couture debut.
