Alexander McQueen Gets An Uptown Revamp

by The Daily Front Row

The downtown fashion pack looking to score some Alexander McQueen wares might be distressed to head uptown to partake in their shopping habits. But once one’s eyes are set on the new Madison Ave. flagship store, all woes will be forgotten. Having shuttered the doors on their Meatpacking district locale right before the weekend started, the new uptown boutique is ready for action as of Monday morning. Your Daily got a preview early this morning, over coffee and Sant Ambroeus nibbles, where we were amazed by the bespoke details on the walls, cleverly complementing the ornate clutches, killer shoes, and chic ready-to-wear on display. Designed in collaboration with David Collins Studio and the label’s creative director, Sarah Burton, the factors that influenced the space include (but are not limited to) the human skeleton, the architecture of Antoni Gaudi, Rorschach ink blots and the Surrealist artist HR Giger
