It’s been a good year for 10 Crosby Derek Lam. The successful diffusion line of Derek Lam‘s main ready-to-wear collection has announced the opening of its own standalone store coming to Soho in October and the brand also has its own shop-in-shop on Amazon.com with 10 deliveries a year. So its no wonder that the 10 Crosby line for Resort looked so shopable, and so wearable. Plenty of layering offered plenty of versatility, like a coral colored short sleeve top worn that came nipped at the waist with a tie (but could be easily worn without), which topped a white button down worn over a mustard pencil skirt, all of which could be worn separately or together.
Easy-to-wear looks like a slouchy white pant with a simple matching sleeveless top with details under the arms and draping at the back could be dressed up or down, and is the kind of outfit you could wear a million times whether it be together or separate. A black deep-v dress with an equally deep front slit up the skirt added an unostentatious dose of sultriness, while strappy crop tops worn with pants and cropped moto-style blazers had a sexy but sporty feel. As for the shoes, there were a few varieties of leather wrap-up sandals with a stacked heel, a pair of leather pointy-toed flats with a dainty ankle-wrap, and some sporty sneakers. That right there is a veritable shoe wardrobe for the Resort season, non? It felt stylish without trying too hard or being overtly trendy, which seems to be a formula that’s working for the diffusion label.
